Giving Tuesday is a Global Day of Charity that unleashes radical generosity. This day brings increased awareness to the important impact of nonprofits and allows friends like you an exciting opportunity to partner with us at a critical time of year. Many organizations, including OPC, rely on this day to help fundraise for critical projects.
Out of the 95 million people in Francophone Africa suffering from vision loss, 90% of cases are preventable or treatable. Yet, Francophone Africa receives far less financial support than English speaking countries.
That’s why OPC raises funds on occasions like Giving Tuesday – to make quality eye health services accessible to Francophone Africans.
Your Impact on Giving Tuesday
Your donation will have a significant impact. OPC’s programs are designed in collaboration with Ministries of Health and country partners to ensure they are as effective and sustainable as possible.
Through your support, OPC provides comprehensive eye care and treats neglected tropical diseases for individuals at greatest risk for vision loss or blindness. What’s different about OPC is our commitment to inclusive eye health. Our eye care services are accessible and welcoming to all members of the community, including people with sensory, physical and intellectual impairments, and those with mental health conditions.
Additionally, we aim to launch #FORESIGHT, a unique investment opportunity to change the lives of school children and their teachers in the most neglected communities. This program will allow us access into 17 countries to launch sustainable school eye health projects. From providing training to teachers in performing visual acuity tests to administering additional screenings by health professionals, we aim to provide both preventative and corrective services for children.
